Saved by the Church Directory

A check came in the mail recently and looking at the donor's name, I had to admit I was not certain I knew them. I at least had an address, and it was in the same community as the church I attended. I wanted to call the donor but was unsure how to handle the conversation. They probably would expect me to know them. What in the world can I do? Why not check the church directory? I quickly spotted not only the donor's name but a picture as well. Seeing the picture confirmed to me how we had met and gave me the confidence to call and convey my thanks for their generous gift. We had a great conversation and they appreciated the call.
